Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Omar Ritter 00' on August 1, 2006:

I have known Ian since we played football together at Fountain Fort Carson High School. Even then, I knew Ian would go on to do great things. He was the smartest guy in high school, the starting quarterback on the football team, and the starting point guard on the basketball team. He was pretty much the man, yet he was extremely humble and would take the time out to teach us younger players the game. Whether we were playing Tecmo Bowl or playing basketball at the outdoor courts...Ian came to play!

Ian inspired me to attend West Point and branch Armor. During my beast barracks, Ian came to my room and told me to come to him if I needed anything. He didn't have to do that, but he was just that great of a person! Ian you will be missed, but never forgotten.

My condolences go out the Weikel family.

Respectfully,
Omar Ritter
