| John was in my squad in the 7th NCC during Beast Barracks in 1971. We shared a tent during a week of training during the second and better (i.e. cow) Beast detail. John was a fine fellow; always ready to help others, without seeking any recognition in return. As I recall, he told me that he, like myself, was of partial Czech ancestry. It was a pleasure and an honor to have been John's friend. I am deeply sorrowed to learn of his early passing and I extend my sincere, though belated condolences to his family. |
