Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Memo De La Rosa on August 27, 2006:

I met Kaiser briefly in Washington, D.C in 1962. He was the attache at the Embassy of Panama and I was on my way to enter the West Point Class of 1966. He was very helpful giving me a pre-orientation of things to come since I really didn't have any idea. At West Point, I was surprised to find out that most the First Classmen in company A-1 knew him and they thought I also would be a great soccer player and athlete like Kaiser; of course, I had never played soccer and I was no athlete so that illusion vanished in a hurry and I was 'demoted' from the soccer team to the intramural track team to run the wonderful 880. I am very saddened by the news of his tragic death, and wish to convey my condolences to his family and his classmates.
