I prayed that this day would never come...the day we would have to mourn the loss of our first classmate. Some part of me held out hope that our class would be the class to finish this war out and not lose a one while doing it. Sadly, that will not be the case. Though I did not know Emily well, we shared a bond as classmates just as all 911 of us do, and our loss is great. May Emily's sacrifice never be forgotten and may the rest of us have the strength to carry on both in Iraq and at home...strengthened by her example and boldened by her sacrifice.
