Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Barbara Nazworth on September 21, 2006:

This is a note is from Jay's mother-in-law, Barbara. It's been a long time since anyone posted. Jen and the kids are doing so well and I thought this note is a good update on how they are coping.

Jen (Jay's wife) is currently living in Michigan. Jen has completed two West Point Triathlons in Jay's memory and several other races (Army 10 miler, 5k's, etc.) She is also attending college to get her degree in Interior Design. She continues to grieve for Jay, but she continues on living with her head held high and works through her pain with much grace. I know Jay is so proud of her accomplishments.

Adeline Rose (daddy's little girl) will be 4 in October. Adeline is very smart and a little shy sometimes. She runs like the wind and is now in Soccer which she loves very much. This is especially wonderful since Jay was such an avid Soccer fan. She likes being Goalie which is what her daddy was, but prefers kicking that ball around the field. I know he's so proud of her!

Ralph (daddy's first born) is now 2 1/2. He is a rough and tumble guy who doesn't know his own strength, but he has such a big heart and is very loving and affectionate. He likes Bob the Builder and his cars and trucks, he is very attached to them! I know Jay and him would have had many enjoyable times under the hood of a car!

Warren (daddy's unknown child) is now 15 months old. He is quite a character with a big smile that will warm any heart and lights up the room he's in! He loves to play with his brother and sister (when they let him). He can climb anything - He loves the slide and goes down on his belly. His daddy would have loved this little man with his winning personality and outgoing nature!

As for Nana - well I just enjoy being with my daughter and grandkids. They are my life blood and I will always be here to take care of them for as long as God grants me time on this earth. I miss Jay everyday. I loved our times together watching movies and talking computers and music.

Jay - your little family misses you and will never forget the gentle giant who graced their lives for such a short period of time. The love you and Jen had was so special and you left her so many little gems of happiness (Adeline, Ralph and Warren). You are the angel we look to everyday and the example we try to live up to! Know that you are missed by so many people who loved you and your legacy to this world is a worthwhile one. We are moving on with our lives, but not without you in our hearts.

Forever yours, MOM.
