Be Thou At Peace
Posted by Andrew Reynolds on October 5, 2006:
I have no idea how to start this. Dustin and I grew up together back in Vassar. We spent time together about as much as kids could. From sleepovers as 10 year olds to athletics and academics in high school. Even though we were the same age, I looked up to Dustin. He was the kind of guy that any man wants to be. He could walk in to a room where no one knows him, and instantly, people would be drawn to him. Dustin was such an amazing person. On October 10th, I lost my best friend here in DC, on the 16th a childhood neighbor and friend, and then the 23rd one of my best friends growing up. From these things I learned one huge thing in life. Embrace those that you love and learn everything you can about them. Charish the moments spent together, because at anytime they can be taken from you. Dustin, I look back at the days we spent running around the neighborhood, playing sports, just hanging out in your basement, and I smile. You have made a big impression on me and my life. Your birthday is tomorrow and know that you were loved by many and missed by many more. And by me, you are thought about often. To the Shannon family, God Bless.
