I can still see the envelope on the door, waiting for one of us Beaners to pick it up for mailing. Everynight there was a letter. I thought I wrote a lot of letters. Ted outdid me. Nor will I ever hear the song "Looking for love in all the wrong places" without thinking of him. That drawl ringing out, asking me "Wojo, you think I like this song?" If ever there were a person to venerate and emulate, Ted was that person. Our nation is a better and safer place because of all he did, and at a loss for all he was to do. Fare thee well Okie...fare thee well. |
