Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Alan Van Saun on November 27, 2006:

It's taken me awhile to figure out what to write and I'm sure these words will never be enough to justify what Ryan sacrificed. Having already been on one deployment to Iraq, there are so many emotions that go through my head. Anger, frustration, confusion. Why did we lose such a great guy? We will never know why, but we do know how much of a difference Ryan made when we knew him. Ryan was the guy who always had a smile, always had a positive attitude and never hated anything or anyone. I knew Ryan from school, but truly got to know him as a fellow squadmate at Ranger School. Even during those difficult and cold times, Ryan kept the entire squad going.

I consider it a blessing to have known Ryan and my thoughts and prayers are with his family, and especially his wife. I truly believe that Ryan is now by God's side and we will all see him again one day. JOHN 15:13
