Be Thou At Peace
Posted by Alan Van Saun on December 2, 2006:
Anyone who knew Dave couldn't help but be amazed that someone could balance so many things in his life so well, and remain so optimistic. I first met Dave at Camp Buckner where we spent the summer together in the same platoon. That year Dave's example and strong faith drew me into OCF where we were in a bible study together. Afterwards we went on to be Civil majors together and spend countless hours in the depths of Mahan Hall. Throughout all of this, Dave managed to also be a varsity athlete, Sunday School teacher and volunteer for countless other events. And no matter how hard the work got or how long the road ahead of us seemed, Dave was the only one to continually smile, make jokes and remind everyone of how much God loves us.
It's during times like this that we ask how a person like Dave could be taken from us so soon? Dave definitely left the world a better place than how he found it and is now with the Lord. My thoughts and prayers are with his family. JOHN 15:13
