I was a plebe in H1 when Dave was a Firstie, as well as a member of the cross country team. As one of the few cross country plebes in H1, I remember Dave checking in on me from time to time, making sure that I was doing alright during that difficult adjustment time. I remember he always wore a baseball cap, with a fishhook in it. He was a great person, and I always knew that there was someone looking out for me when he was around. I am sure that is the same feeling his soldiers felt. He was a strong Christian, a great athlete, and someone who inspired those around him, whether they realized it or not. He touched lives, and continues to do so. |
