Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Cheryl Patten on December 5, 2006:

To Dave's Family and Friends: Our family had the great fortune of getting to know Dave on trips to WP to watch Cross Country and Track Meets. He was consistently respectful, polite, courteous, and one of the most pleasant persons you would ever want to be around. When our trips allowed us to stay till Sunday, we went to the Post Chapel with our son, Adam, Seth Chappell and Dave and sometimes Garrett Cathcart, Aaron Reiter and others. We usually followed that up with taking them to lunch at the West Point Officer's Club or some place that worked for them if they were in a time pinch because of an engineering project. It was always a joy to be with them and a blessing to us to share what time they could spare from their studies. I applaud you for raising a son who brought honor to God in all that he did, who honored and respected his parents, and showed kindness and care to his friends. Our hearts go out to you in your loss. We pray for your comfort.

Dave, you are an awesome man and we rejoice with you that you now sit at the feet of Jesus and, for you, we count it all joy that you have received your reward. Well done thou great and faithful servant. You will be missed.

Our love to you from our family,
Cheryl, LTC David, Aaron, Adam and wife,Terri, and Kristin Patten
