Be Thou At Peace

Posted by SSG Glen Gilbert and the Gilbert Family on December 5, 2006:

The Fraser Family,

I am not sure if you remember us, but we used to live across the street from you in Oak Creek, and my brothers and I were good friends with David. We wanted to send our deepest condolences to you and the rest of your family. I am an Enduring Freedom veteran and my brother Gary is an Iraqi Freedom veteran as well, so we will always honor David and the sacrafice that he made to make this country great. He was an amazing person and will be greatly missed by many. I actually went to Airborne School with him and he thought I was my brother Greg. He came up to me and said, "Hey, don't I know you Sergeant?". I said, "I don't think so, sir", and he said "we used to play football in the street, now stand at attention." Then we started laughing and just caught up for a while. He was a phenomenal soldier and always made me laugh. He will be deeply missed and will ALWAYS be honored by myself and the rest of my family.

With Love from my family to yours,

SSG Glen Gilbert and the Gilbert Family.
