Albert G. Dancy

West Point, 1944

Be Thou At Peace

Posted by A Guy Dancy on December 20, 2006:

As so many West Point Cadets before him, Al was born to be a soldier and to dedicate his life to ideals that seem out of place today - Duty, Honor, Country. He never believed it any other way; not for the 32 years he spent with the organization he loved, and afterwards in retirement. As he closed out his life with Marie Dancy, wife of 61 years, he embodied the ethics and contribution of "America's Greatest Generation". He lived to serve his family and his church, and was known as someone you could always count on to be there when something needed doing. He loved West Point and the wife he met at Highland Falls in December of 1942. He is missed by his sons, grand children, great grandchildren, and the river community of Tappahannock Virginia, where he spent the last joyful and productive years of his life.
