Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Clifton W. Skye on April 10, 2000:

My name is Clifton W. Skye. I first became aquainted with Dana in the wrestling portion of our physical fitness program at West Point. Dana was the only cadet in the class whose physical stature approached my own. We were paired for the duration. We practised takedowns where we would throw eachother to the floor with the aggressor on top. I never mastered the technique properly; consequently, Dana would always arise from our bodyslams with a pained expression. I never realized the discomfort I put him through until he improperly applied the technique to me. Finally, I stood up and understood what he was feeling. I was in pain. We looked at eachother and laughed. Although, I never graduated, I remember running into Dana for the 3 years I attended West Point. He was a great guy! I am saddened by his death.
