Be Thou At Peace

I am saddened to learn that the Kingfish is dead. (His earliest moniker that predates West Point.) Long live the Kingfish in our memory--a truly unique spirit among us. His ability to find humor, irony and a compelling way to deal with our everyday, mundane existence shined a bright light on what to most of us was at times rather depressing situations. Most impressive was that his approach was never hurtful to anyone; designed only to get us to a better understanding of our selves and our life. My last memory (beyond Ken's presence) is of a classmate at our 45th who rushed to share with me that Ken claimed that he graduated #1 from PREP SCHOOL, looking for a disclaimer from me which I could in truth not deliver. I have reflected later that this was Ken's way of saying, "Guys, what are we competing for?" Ken in his own words declared that "Life is just a bowl of cherries." I hope and pray that he ate every one. He will be missed
