| Col. Hamilton was a Major, Bn XO, 48th FA, 7th Div Arty, 7th Inf Div in Korea from May 54 - Oct 55, when I first met him. I was a newly graduated OCS 2nd Lt and he assumed the role of my mentor. His leadership, professionalism and personal ethics were outstanding and served as an example for me throughout my 20 year career in the Military. I credit his early influence to a very large degree for being directly responsibile for my successful career as a Commissioned Officer. 'Ham', as we knew him was Best Man at our wedding on 21 Dec 55 and he remained an important and loved element in our lives. He was the epitome of a Southern Gentleman in every way, and will always live in our hearts and minds. He is missed!!! |
