Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Tally Glossbrenner on May 28, 2007:

I am John's second cousin, I believe. I only met him once as a little girl when he visited my family's home in Houston, Texas, while on leave. Though I was only seven, I remember him as very sweet to us kids, and my mother being absolutely enchanted by this long-lost relative of my father's! I remember when my sisters and brothers asked him directly. "What are we doing in Vietnam?" and Col John replied, "Because Freedom is at stake. THAT is reason enough!"

How badly we need men of his calibre NOW; how true his words have been since the beginning of time...I wish we had been able to see him again; I send my love to his family and share continued PRIDE to be even remotely related to such as He!
