Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Regan Kelley on July 11, 2007:

I'm sitting here reading all of these Eulogies and crying. I've wanted to write something for a long time now. Todd I remember you so well. We had high school Psychology together. I remember thinking you were so funny and I instantly had a crush on you. I so looked forward to seeing you every day. You were absolutely the highlight of 1998. I remember the day you were accepted into West Point. You were so excited and proud. I remember the day you asked me to prom and I was so flattered. You stopped by my house after school with 3 dozen roses. You always knew how to impress. I was privileged to be your girlfriend. You were always so thoughtful to call me once a week from West Point even though it was the only call you were allowed to make. I could talk to you for hours at a time because you were so intriguing and entertaining. Dear friend, I apologize for the way our friendship ended. I have always regretted the letter I wrote you and the way I handled it. I was immature and cruel and you never deserved any of it. I knew how much it hurt you and I wish that I could take it back. I have never forgotten you. My mom called me the day she found out you had died. I cried and cried. I remember how you used to say that fighting and dying in war would be amazing. It actually happened. I can't think of a more noble way to die. You are in my thoughts always. I am grateful to have known you and I hope that you were able to forgive me for the things I have said and done. You will always be a friend. All my love, Regan Kelley
