Gordy was my beast barracks roomate, and one of my closest friends during beast barracks and plebe year. I treasure a plebe Christmas picture of him in my room with my wife (now of 37 years) in a goofy paper "mistletoe" hat. He was always making us laugh, whether at his own expense or ours. Always upbeat, he helped make those times bearable. I wasn't a writer, and lost touch with him at graduation. I still think of him frequently -- the world is a sadder place with his passing. |
