John Hester Ward

West Point, 1964

Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Harold R. Winton on April 24, 2012:

John Ward was a great classmate. He gave selflessly of his time, his treasure, and his love to create a magnificent legacy for the West Point Class of 1964. His periodic Class Rosters and Directories, which reached their 9th Edition by 2010, gave our class an insturment for staying abreast of one another's activities unmatched in the annals of the Academy. Not content with a mere compilation, he worked tirelessly to imporve the product with each iteration. He also went far above and beyond the call of duty to track down classmates and former classmates who had kept a low profile, adding greatly to the class's esprit-de-corps and embodying the Army motto of "No Man Left Behind," No man is irreplaceable, but John Ward came as close as any mere human could get to being so. He was a wonderful man and a great classmate. Well Done, John, Be Thou at Peace.
