Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Eric and M J Brettschneider on August 23, 2006:

While commander of the 82nd Engineers in Germany, Jed not only worked tirelessly for the men in his battalion, he also took an interest in the community as a whole. He and his daughter, Debbie were active in the Bamberg Ski Club, encouraging his young soldiers to take advantage of this opportunity for sport and travel, and leading the way by example, as always. On behalf of Jed's friends and fellow skiers of the Bamberg Ski Club, "The Wild Bunch" who believed their best days were spent "crashing and burning" on the sunny ski slopes of Austria, we'd like to remember his great smile, his encouragement of beginning skiers, and his open enjoyment of the camaraderie of this sport in Europe. The Wild Bunch remembers him fondly, and wishes his family well. Somewhere in Heaven, we picture Jed, at last painfree, beckoning all his friends to "Come on over, the skiing is super."
