Mark Carl Galton

West Point, 1964

Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Roger Thurman on February 20, 2009:

I knew Capt. Mark Galton in Viet Nam in late 1967. He commanded a small ASA "Radio Research" unit in support of the 196th LIB near Chu Lai. As a newly arrived linguist he allowed me to spend time learning the language as it was spoken and used locally which was very different from what I was taught in school. Although our acquantance was brief, he was the most positive, fair, direct, no-nonsense officer I encountered. He was a true leader and it was an honor to have served with him.
