John and I were roommates in Beast Barracks, and he always had a smile and calmness about him, and a willingness to help everyone that was indeed rare. Mixed with his zest for life, and genuine love for every other person he met, John was destined to have many friends and for great success. I was proud to be his roommate and friend from the time we met. We were together at West Point when tragedy struck more than once, and John always looked at the positive side of things. Wish we had lived closer to Arizona, as Eleanor and I would have thoroughly enjoyed some more time with Dyanne and John. Those who knew John knew a very special person, who will always be remembered with a smile, respect, and genuine love for a great man. John, you're missed still. John and Eleanor Vann |
