Be Thou At Peace
Posted by Colby Jenkins on May 8, 2008:
Drew and I were together, along with our other Infantry brothers, in Hawaii during our Bobcat, 2-5 IN days. Those were great days, and they were great because of good friends like Drew and Jo. I admired Drew from the beginning because he never wavered in doing his share of the work and then some. Always a team player, Drew was a great partner to have as a fellow platoon leader. During that time, I was a new father, and found myself admiring Drew even more for his ability to be a good father. He was mature beyond his years I dare say, and a good role model for me and many others.
While it has been some time since we last served together, I am jealous of the soldiers who served alongside and under Drew's command. I am sure they never lacked for confidence in their leader, knowing that Drew sought only their best.
People like Drew and his family are what make our country great and worth fighting for. Thank you Drew, and Jo, for your sacrifice. We are grateful and hope that the lives we live are worthy of your honor.
