Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Wayne Dockery, Lt Col (ret), USAF on July 31, 2009:

On 03 February 2006, I was honored to fly out of Baghdad on the C-130 with Garrison and three other members of his unit who had fallen. Myself and two LTs from his unit joined about 50 people from Sather Air Base to form up next to the tail ramp creating an honor cordon as he and his comrades were brought aboard. Prayers were said in the plane and after the others had left, senior people from his unit held their own prayer circle on the cement apron near the tail. Every respect possible was accorded to these heroes and when they were taken off the plane in Kuwait City, the same respect was shown.

To all who knew Garrison, I wish you peace.
