| 1LT Avery's story is inspiring. I am a current cadet at USMA, Class of 2026, and I just wanted to come on here to express to anyone who may have known him that his legacy still lives on at West Point. I am in company G4, and recently discovered the story of 1LT Avery. My company is now working to put together a memorial PT event to honor him. If anyone who was close to LT Avery sees this, I would love to get in touch to get more information about him and how we can best honor his memory in our company. I am so sorry for your loss. I hope that you might find comfort in knowing that even after 18 years, there are still so many cadets who talk about him and his sacrifice. |
