| I met Gary as a fellow cadre member for Beast. He came to the platoon right before we went to Lake Fredericks. My initial impression of him (I?m sure similar to most) was that he was quiet, thoughtful, and extremely dedicated to others?especially the kids in his squad. His ingenuity to rig his rucksack to provide more comfort while carrying a 60 pound ruck but still conform to West Point standards was something that you just had to admire. My condolences to Gary?s wife and family. Your husband, your son impacted the lives of those he met; he will be missed by us all. |
