at school it was not uncommon to bestow "good dude" status onto one of your peers to vouch for him in his absence. its probly the best thing you can have said about you by your peers. gary was a good dude in the truest sense. quiet, but capable. humble, but confident. eager to lead. eager to learn. a great american, an even better human being.
