Be Thou At Peace

Posted by '06 Dad on June 2, 2006:

My son gives compliments very sparingly. One of the highest verbal compliments that he gives is "That guy is a Good Dude." He knew Garrison from having been the recipient of his help in various train-ups to Sapper School, etc. I only recently learned of Garrison's passing when we went to Graduation and saw a wrist band that my son and a number of friends and associates were wearing honoring Garrison's memory. After inquiring, I was told of a host of good things Garrison did for him and the other Cadets.

The fact that these Cadets took the time and effort to have these made and now wear them proudly tells anyone who will ask that Garrison was "a Good Dude." High praise indeed from his contemporaries. His parents, wife and friends already know this, but I thought it important to share that this is the high regard in which the Cadets hold him. He embodied the West Point ideal - a leader of character.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to his parents, wife and friends in this diffcult time.

Well done, Garrison. Be thou at peace.

An '06 Dad
