Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Linda Mandala on November 8, 2011:

I had the privilege to work with Stan for seven years. On his "96th" birthday, Father Serra's Food Pantry had a birthday party for him. We had some bubbly (apple cider), cake, card etc. He really enjoyed it! A few days later we received a hand written thank card. Since Stan was a lector the thank you was in that format.

I have saved the thank you letter because it was so clever.

Here it is:

"A letter from Stan the Man"

Alleluia and Praise the Lord. For he supplied cake and bubbly and it was good. But are there not many others also worthy who devote more energy than I to the work of the Lord at Serra's Pantry? In the name of their beneficiaries and in my own name I say thank you. You are good servants of the Lord.

AMEN

Stan was an incredible person; my hope and dream is that I can in my lifetime be such a person. He definitely left his foot print in so many lives.
