Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Paul Kalill on September 16, 2013:

I had the honor of serving under then Col. Forrest when he was with the 2nd Armor Division at Fort Hood, Texas. A demanding but great commander, teacher, mentor and friend. Truly a magnificent human being, whom I thought about often after leaving the Army. The advice he always gave was sound and much appreciated. I will never forget all the time we had together before my deployment to Vietnam and the wonderful times with Pat and the Colonel. With warm thoughts, I will always remember. Rest in peace, sir and thank you for a job well done!
