West Point, 1955

Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Dave Wheeler on June 8, 2005:

June 1, 2005 was a beautiful day at Arlington National Cemetery as Doc Schow's family and Classmates gathered for his graveside services, with full military honors superbly rendered by the Old Guard. Doc's family included his wife Hilde; children Mary E. Schow, Peter H. Schow and his children Marie and Paul; and Alice Schow Bowman with her husband David and their children, Caroline and Madeline; and David Bowman's parents. Hilde was also attended by her brother, Hans O. Wagner, USMA '61 and his wife Kathy.

Classmates included Jim Bergen, Bill Brown, Jim Cutchin, Jack Doyle, Joe Franklin, Ray Gunderson, Don Hilbert, Ray Karam, Bill McCulla, Carl McNair, Hank Meetze, Bob Newton, Ed Nidever, Chuck Roades, Bob Russell, Matt Schepps, Tom West and Dave Wheeler. Following the services, all retired to the Ft. Myer Officers Club, where Hilde hosted a light lunch.

Doc, old friend, well done: be thou at rest.
