Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Quent Bates on May 20, 2013:

Eck. Bob McClelland and Frank Armour (then, Ceglowski) and I were plebe roommates. My memory, which is dim, is that we were on the third or forth floor of the 8th Division. I'm sure that Bob, Eck and I all appreciated rooming with Frank. The upperclassmen spent so much time harassing Frank that they had little time left over for us. Bob passed away several years ago. Now with Eck's passing, our Plebe foursome is down to 50%.

As I think back to those years in C-1, the best word description that comes to mind, is that Eck was, "intense". Whether it was keeping in shape (and he was always in perfect condition), studying,or keeping up with his share of duties and responsibilities, he was completely focused, and aiming to exceed 100% of the requirement.

My best to the family, and to Eck, "Rest in peace, my admired and good friend".
