Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Felix "Doc: Dorough on August 20, 2010:

In July 1998 when Jeanne and I returned to the US after nearly 15 years in Brussels with the Foreign Service and NATO, we settled in Williamsburg I was unaware that my former F-2 classmate lived here, so I was delightedly surprised when Bill rang the doorbell and became the first person to enter our home..we were busily unpacking boxes. Over the next 10 years I saw Bill and Sherry numerous times at our monthly lunchs or in their home. Bill's untimely death was a terrible shock, especially in view of our phone chat on the Sunday after his accident when I joked with him, as I had done several times before, that he should give up tennis and join us "super-seniors" on the golf course. I then learned of Bill's passing from Ed Rumsey in South Carolina when he called me about it. Bill was a fine person and someone I am proud to have had as a friend.
