George and I met early during Plebe year in 1952 trying out for baseball. Since then for over 59 years we have somehow always been together either by assignments, work, social events or just by phone. George and Lynell were a very important part of our lives. We named a guest bedroom the Stapleton Suite and they used it whenever they came up or down I-81. George was always ready to help anyone and he and Lynell opened their home to all and made everyone feel like a King and Queen. George will be missed but the wonderful memories of knowing him will bring fond thoughts. He was a friend indeed. Stan and Connie Diez |
