"Cuz" soon after we became the first two Tierneys to attend USMA, on July 6, 1954, we met. Although we used the term "Cuz" for each other, we never established a common ancestor. Our paths crossed many times as cadets, although we were in different Regiments. After graduation we rarely saw each other. The last meeting was at the check in at the hotel for the San Antonio mini. I am glad that I decided to take the Coast Route 1 coming back from Columbia Falls ME a few years ago and passed through Camden while you were still running the Bed and Breakfast "The Maine Stay". As I recall, it was mid fall, a slow tourist time in ME and I arrived about mid morning. We got to visit for a couple of hours before I had to get on down the road to Boston. I had hoped to see you at subsequent reunions but your illness prevented that. We did maintain frequent e-mail contact these past few years. I will miss you my Cousin. Jack "Cuz" Tierney |
