Pete and I both joined the Cadet Sunday School Teachers at the beginning of Cow year. Like all who knew him, I was drawn to him instantly. He was a living example of the ideal of the Cadet Prayer: "May our religion be filled with gladness and may our worship of Thee be natural." In the last months of his earthly life, he bore his affliction of pancreatic cancer with courage, grace, and dignity, supported by his strong and loving helpmeet, Marty. I'm sure he took great joy in their being able to celebrate their 44th anniversary shortly before we lost him. Pete, I miss you, brother. Well done, thou good and faithful servant, enter into the joy of thy Lord. |
