Be Thou At Peace

Posted by TJ Kelly on September 13, 2011:

As cannon fodder for the football team I got pushed around by Bill alot. I remember a two on one drill where I was the defensive lineman trying to shoot the gap between Bill @ tackle and Dick Nowak @ guard. When they said "hike" I was all fired up and thought I got off pretty quickly! They hit me so hard I thought my shoulder pads were down around my hips and I was going backward at about 5 mph! That's the difference between "A" team and cannon fodder! The key thing I remember though, was Bill coming over to me afterward and telling great try and keep it up. He was a dynamo on the field but a gentle soul inside. Rest well Bill, well done.
