I was acquainted with Joe Bishop during our postings to Fort Benning for the advanced course. Step Tyner's comments hit the nail on the head regarding his military service. My memories are of shared activities with our two families. Each of our first offspring was born while we were assigned to Benning and this resulted in shared enjoyable family outings of one type or another. Joe Bishop was a gentleman through and through and was a quiet personality, a personality that would listen to another viewpoint and render a calm, reasoned and focused response. He will be missed. A good, good man, a good soldier and a true and faithful representative of our Alma Mater. |
