Dick was a friend and fellow member of E2. Judy and I were lucky to have known him. He was always forthright, loyal, and humble, and thoroughly enjoyable to be with. I last saw Dick in 2002 at Fort Polk; we had dinner at his quarters. What impressed me about Dick was that he was always the same: as a cadet, as an eminently successful infantry colonel, on duty, off duty, etc. With Dick, what you saw was what you got: incredibly sincere, gracious, and polite. He was a true gentleman. We mourn his loss, and extend heartfelt sympathies to his family. |
