| Charlie was my best friend in our Firstie year. We met in one of our senior chemistry classes, and the big guy and Dan Schafer rolled out the welcome mat for me. Our friendship blossomed over the year, and Charlie very much became a brother to me. He was very warm and fun and smart, and his heart was as big as his beloved Texas. Charlie and Dan gave the best of themselves to me, and they introduced me to Wayne Locklin. What a joyful, joyful trio they were! In true loving spirit, Charlie also introduced me to his family and to his dear Kasi. Late in our senior year, Charlie was the once-in-a-lifetime friend who gave until it hurt, and kept giving even more. He was the friend whom we all wish to have. From heaven, he is a friend to all of us. God bless you, Charlie. God bless you, Wayne. God bless you, Class of '86. |
