Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Wade Yamada on November 27, 2006:

Jackie and the Finken Family,

Please accept my deepest condolences on your loss. I had the honor and privilege of being Paul's West Point classmate and Naval Postgraduate School classmate. Though, I did not know him well at West Point, I did get to spend a great deal of time with him at Monterey.

I always admired Paul's perserverance and loved his sense of humor. He had a way of simplifying things and getting to the root of what was really important. Paul kept all of us grounded as we got into the details of our studies. Paul was the first to finish his thesis among all of us and always willing to lend a hand as we compiled study notes to study for an exam.

Although, Paul could have chosen a different career path at the time, Paul chose to be with soldiers and live the life of an infantryman. He truly enjoyed being a soldier.

My prayers are with you at this difficult time.

Be Thou at Peace.
Wade Yamada
