I am Laura's classmate and was in company C-3 with her for three years. Our class, and our country have suffered a tremendous loss. Laura had such an impact on my life and on those around her at the Academy. Laura was one of the people at the Academy that I really looked up to. A lot of times when things were tough or I needed to talk to someone Laura was always a voice of sound reason and good advice. She was a natural leader. Everyone in our company respected her input on every issue. Laura was one of the people that I often would try to learn from her great example of how to be a leader and how to deal with many situations as a cadet. I truly believe that I am a better person today because of the influence of people like Laura. -Stephen Hays USMA 2003 |
