Adam Paulson Snyder

West Point, 2004

Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Katherine Mendelson-Leidenberg on December 8, 2007:

I met Adam the first day the school year started at West Point. He was my next door neighbor for our plebe year and was the only happy face I ever saw. Through our four years at West Point we remained friends. We happened to both be posted to the 101st Airborne Division together after graduation. Adam was one of the few friendly faces during our first six months at Ft Campbell and I always appreciated running into him. Through our first deployment to OIF he was always there to give me a smile and tell me how many days we had left till we got home. After we returned we both lamented our new jobs as Battalion S-1's and I could always look forward to seeing Adam during our weekly meetings, knowing he would be the only one with a joke to keep me laughing. My last memories of Adam are going to Nashville with my best friend Liz, my husband and me attending a comedy show. As usual he made the show a great one with his wonderful sense of humor. He was a great friend who was so happy to be in the Army doing what he was doing and I know he left this life happy and content. To one of the best officers I've known for the past seven years, thank you for your service and I'll always miss your friendship. To the wonderful family who raised him and whom he talked about non-stop throughout the years I've known him, thank you for raising such a wonderful young man, please know that he affected many lives and we will always miss him.

Sincerely,
Kat Leidenberg
