Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Will Sherman on December 10, 2007:

I first met Adam as plebes together in H4. Right away you could tell that he was an incredible person. He was one of the most hardworking people I've ever met, yet he still found time to show others around him that they were important to him. It didn't take long before we all knew he would do anything for us. Now he has made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our great nation. Adam and I split to different companies before our yearling year, but I was fortunate to spend time with him in the Cadet Glee Club for the rest of our time at West Point. He was a great singer and an equally good leader for our group. Adam took pride in mentoring the younger members of the choir, and helping them out along the way. He wasn't afraid to show them what strong leadership with a personal touch is, and he led by example with honor and integrity everyday. Adam and I spent a lot of time together working on the 100th Night Show as firsties. He was always upping the bar- offering suggestions and support, pushing us to be our best. I grew even more impressed with his talent and personality. When we were tired from struggling to balance rehearsal with our ever-enlarging schedules Adam was always there with a story or a joke capped off with that big goofy grin. I often think about the days when we can all stop to take time and catch up at reunions and weddings down the road. I have envisioned us all back together singing The Corps and The Alma Mater with all the pride that we did as cadets and telling stories about our victories and vices at West Point. It hurts to think that we will have to do that without Adam. We'll hold onto the memories, but you will be missed Adam. Be Thou At Peace
