| TO Dan's Family: You did an outstanding job! I had the opportunity to serve with CPT Dan Whiten "The O's Aide" in Afghanistan. There were only a few Captains on the division staff working amongst what seemed like hundreds of field grade officers. Given our situation we often found ourselves huddled together before, during and after meetings. We would often talk about commanding companies in combat and the great opportunity we had to be serving our nation during a time of war. Dan was a great friend and he will be sorely missed by many. |
