To the family of Thomas Martin: I want to extend my heartfelt sympathy to your family, and my expression of gratitude to you for the life he gave for his country. I know of no more honorable way to live and to die, and I think this is something you can always be extremely proud of. It is men like Thomas that together make this country what it is today. I am so sad for your loss, and hope that as time goes by, your pain will subside. I will be praying for your comfort and strength in this difficult time.
