Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Veteran's Reflections on August 15, 2011:

It is difficult to find the right words to express our grief & our appreciation to this "Hero" who has paid the ultimate price to preserve our freedoms and protect the helpless victims in other countries. We regret he has paid the price with his life. A Grateful Nation Salutes you!

Rest in Peace my brother in Arms and Thank You for the footprints that you have left behind.Footprints in History were not made by sitting down. Our American heroes are proof in this. President Ronald Reagan once said "We have every right to dream heroic dreams. Those who say that we're in a time when there are no heroes, they just don't know where to look."

You served with Honor, now let me Honor you. As a former member of the 101st "You had "Rendezvous With Destiny", for your bravery and for the ultimate sacrifice you made for our beloved country and for our Freedoms. You have the admiration and respect from a truly grateful nation.

My family's thoughts and prayers are with your family and along with our deepest condolences and sympathy. You, 1st LT. John M. Runkle, are a true American Hero. Rest with God knowing we will stand the watch now. God Speed, "Our American Hero".

Thank you for the footprints.
