Be Thou At Peace

My son Class of 2002 lost a classmate his Plebe year. He still to this day has on the bottom of every email he sends "For Joe". John has touched many, his short time at West Point, and he will not be forgotten. In times of sorrow I always turn to the pages of "The Prophet by Kahlil Gibran. A few words to hopefully comfort you.... "Know therefore, that from the greater silence I shall return. The mists that drifts away at dawn, leaving but dew in the fields, shall rise and gather into a cloud and then fall down in rain. And not unlike the mist have I been. In the stillness of the night I have walked in your streets, and my spirit has entered your house." John's spirit will always be with you. May your memory of him give you peace. We all hurt when we lose someone from our West Point family. Our love and prayers are with you. |
