Be Thou At Peace

Posted by an understander on April 29, 2001:

i understand what everyone is going through. i am a senior in high school, and since the summer before my freshman year, 4 classmates have been taken from us. 2 were hit by a train the summer before my freshman year. i remember feeling the devistation that so many people are feeling right now. it seemed almost unbearable. but we all stuck together and helped each other through the hard times that followed. the same way that we all did for the following two accidents that occured.
when you lose a friend, it's the hardest thing to go through. just remember to stick together. talk about the person you have just lost. when you talk about the good times, it gets everyone smiling again.
as i told the parents of my close friend seth who was killed last february, "the sun will shine again. it will be his hand painting the rainbows in the sky, his smile will be the sunshine, and we will see him again when the time comes."
i did not know john heinmiller, but from what i have read, he reminds me so much of seth, that i just wanted to write a little something. he always had a smile on his face, could turn any situation into a positive one, and was always good for a laugh.
i can still hear my friend seth's voice when i sit back and really think about it, even over a year after his death. keep your memories with you always. they are what you will treasure in the long run. i know i love the memories i hold on to.
god bless to the heinmiller family. just remember, everything happens for a reason. it must be john's turn to make a difference up in heaven. maybe he'll run in to seth--he'll take care of john. i promise.
